On Monday 10th November 180 Secondary and Primary students from Sir Titus Salt, Grange, Fagley, Byron, Crossflatts and Holycroft, met in Centenary Square to create a giant circle, marking out the location of the Mirror Pool. They were joined by their teachers and staff, members of the Schools Linking team and the team involved with the development of The Park at the heart of Bradford.
The purpose of the day was to engage the students with the city they live in capturing their thoughts, images and perceptions of the people and places in Bradford and to introduce them to the development plans for the future of their city. The Primary schools were involved in making documentaries about Bradford and art workshops at the National Media Museum and Bradford 1 Gallery. The Secondary schools were worked in and around City Hall on art, soundscape and photography activities.
Following this day in term 2 and 3 artists will work with the schools to produce art work around their images and thoughts and the work will be exhibited in June during WDWTWA week.
