Frizinghall – Digi blue animation
Digi blue proved to be an excellent linking activity due to the way it was facilitated by the teacher at Frizinghall. The children at Frizinghall had been taught to use stop gap animation prior to the link day. The Frizinghall children were then given a set of instructions to teach the Myrtle Park children how to use the equipment. Using lego as a stimulus the children worked in groups of four to record and edit a short animation. There was a great feeling of teamwork and each group felt a fantastic sense of achievement.
The children at Myrtle Park will now be teaching the Frizinghall children a new skill on their next linking day.
Making Board Games
Children at Hothfield and Eastwood primary school worked together on making a board game with a Treasure Island theme. The children designed a treasure island and surrounded it with a track for their game. They then coloured some squares red and some squares blue and made cards to match the colours to use with their game. This was a great linking activity as the children were engaged in dialogue throughout designing their game and they thoroughly enjoyed playing them together too!
