The Polish community settled in Bradford after the Second World War in which many served in the British armed forces. Rather than return to communist Poland the ex-servicemen and their families remained in England and many were attracted to Bradford to work in the textile mills.
Using texts in class and some of the links below students should write a short story written from the point of view of a Polish immigrant unable to return home to Poland .
