The project has been developed in partnership with Education Bradford, the Diversity Exchange, MGL World, Bradford Vision and Bradford Tourism. Originally a concept designed by MGL for Liverpool’s successful bid for the Capital of Culture, it has been adapted as a community cohesion project in Bradford.
Our primary aim is for the Culture Cards to be used as a learning resource for schools to help develop an understanding between children from different cultures and backgrounds, and from different areas within the District to help boost civic pride. As a project, the Culture Cards is a resource aimed at Year 5 pupils and is accessible to all primary schools in Bradford. It will provide an exciting opportunity for schools to integrate cultural diversity across a range of curriculum subjects and develop stimulating projects acknowledging Bradford’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
As a resource,
the website itself can be used by much wider groups of people, of all
ages. Visiting the places of interest will further help to develop a greater
understanding and awareness of the contributions made by Bradford’s
diverse communities.’
