 On this day in 1904, in a small house in a poor part of Bristol, England, Cary Grant was born. When he was nine years old, his mother was admitted to an asylum.
Nobody told him where his mother had gone. Little wonder then that he seized the opportunity to escape at the age of fourteen and make a new life for himself in the United States.
