School Resources for The Chronicles Of Narnia: Prince Caspian Print E-mail
Thursday, 05 June 2008

Following the tremendous success of the Walt Disney Studios and Walden Media film The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at Christmas 2005, the next instalment in the Chronicles of Narnia series, Prince Caspian , opens in UK cinemas on 26 June 2008.

Lee Jury, Vice-President of Marketing at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures UK, said “Our experience with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe taught us a lot. We learnt a great deal about the appetite for the works of CS Lewis in particular sections of the market. When it came to releasing Prince Caspian, we wanted to develop that fascination by producing materials that were of interest and use to communities and schools.”

To this end, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has invited two specialist charities to produce a set of resources for churches, community and schools to use. Film Education are running a major campaign to primary schools across the country which includes the distribution of a disc for use on Interactive White Boards. It contains a range of activities and materials which have been designed to help teachers cover key elements of the curriculum at Key Stage 2 (7-11years).

Damaris Trust (www.damaris.org) is an educational charity, with a Christian foundation but serving people of all faiths and none by creating resources that explore spiritual and moral issues in relation to contemporary popular culture.
