BLAST Logo with URL.jpg

The BBC Blast truck is coming to Bradford, Centenary Square on 11th, 12th and 13thth June offering 13-19 year olds the chance to take part in a wide variety of free creative workshops and we would love your school to be involved.

Blast on tour is a unique, mobile e-learning studio. The truck comprises a TV studio, VT/ audio editing area, digital workshop area and a separate performance area all kitted out with state of the art technology.
During the visit to Bradford we will be running workshops in animation, film making, radio production, music production, Dj-ing, dance and the creative arts. The exact programme is yet to be confirmed and I am open to suggestions if there is a particular workshop which you would like your students to take part in.
Industry professionals will also be on hand offering advice and tips about careers in the media and creative arts industry.

The school sessions will last around two hours and students must be accompanied by two teachers or teacher and accompanying adult during the workshops. We are able to cater for groups of up to 25. All facilitators will be fully CRB checked and there will be toilets and St John ambulance volunteers on site. All students taking part in the project would also be required to gain parental consent to take part in the workshops.

The BBC will showcase some of the work created during the workshops online or on the truck. The students will also have the chance to take home a copy of their work on DVD or CD. There will also be the chance to perform at a showcase.

BBC Blast is the BBC’s scheme to help 13-19 year olds to get creative and is designed for teenagers of all abilities. We will also be running workshops and showcases after school on all three days the truck is in Bradford.

BBC Blast is on tour from April until October 2008 visiting over 30 locations. Last year the tour ran 550 different workshops, taking place over 106 event days and in 30 locations. The truck covered 8,000 miles.
Please could you let my colleague know if you are interested in bringing a group along to the BBC Blast truck as soon as possible or would like some more information by emailing
