What is the current position in Bradford?
There are 3 groups: Group 1 - Jan08 (x6), Group 2 - Sept08 (x84) & Group 3 - Jan09 (x203).
Group 2 & 3 schools should now be familiarising themselves with the guidance booklet, completing data gap sheets and distributing Fair Processing Notices in order to prepare for their return(s).
Workforce training sessions for SIMS.net schools are available and all SIMS schools are invited to book on the sessions. For an application form and further information, please see the Summer EB-ICT Prospectus for the latest session dates.
*NEW* A Check List is now available to determine readiness in SIMS schools.
All schools should be collecting absence data (for Teachers and Teaching Assistants) dating back to September 2007. This includes absence due to training, maternity leave etc.
What should SIMS schools be doing now?
Those schools in Group 1 (January 2008 pilot) and Group 2 (September 2008 pilot) should be updating, creating and amending records to make sure these are full and correct for the next return, which will take place on 2 October 2008.
Those schools in Group 3 (January 2009 pilot) should be aware that they need to start preparing for their first return shortly (by October at the very latest). If possible, these schools should be updating, creating and amending records to make sure these are full and correct for their first return in January 2009.
What should CMIS schools be doing now?
Those schools who use CMIS cannot prepare their system fully as yet due to software development issues. However, there are some data collection sheets available for you to collect this information from staff to then enter in CMIS as and when the needed fields become available prior to the first return in January 2009.
So, who and what is included in the Workforce Census?
