Last year we set up 'Interactive Whiteboard Clusters' in order to provide continual cost effective support to Primary teachers with interactive whiteboards. Over 40 schools participated in the clusters and many of the teachers attending reported that the sessions enabled them to use interactive whiteboard technology more effectively in their teaching. We are now registering schools for this year's clusters and a letter has been sent out to all schools about this with details of how to register. All details are available by clicking read more below.
The groups have been set up in order to provide ongoing support and development for all staff using Smart and Promethean Interactive Whiteboard Technology. The support includes IWB materials, 5 INSET sessions throughout the year for members of your school (maximum of 4 per school per session) who would benefit from the session and forums to discuss issues arising through use of the IWB. The cost for the year is £225. A single after school INSET session would cost a school approximately £150 so you can see this represents excellent value for money.
The Initial meetings are to be held in October. The groups will be organised based on geographical position and type of IWB. Over 40 Primary schools were involved in the ‘clusters’ last year and found the sessions enabled them to use their IWB technology far more effectively to enhance teaching and learning across a range of subjects.
The first meetings will be to introduce the concept of the meetings and to organise the cluster groups for further meetings. We will then agree the content, venues and dates of future meetings. There are two initial meetings and you are invited to either.
Monday 30th October at Future House 4.00pm – 5.15pm
This meeting is to organise the schools in the Bradford region.
Monday 13th November at Greenhead CLC 4.00pm – 5.15pm
This meeting is to organise the schools in the Keighley region
Please contact Paul Scott or David James (preferably by email) to register your interest for the initial meeting before Friday 20th October.
Presently we are only able to support schools using Promethean and Smart IWB technology using a Windows operating system. If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact Paul or David
