Are you ready for Bradford Schools Online? BSO.jpg

Education Bradford’s Bradford Schools Online website is expected to go live during September and will be the new one-stop-shop for all Bradford schools.

This is an exciting development which will streamline resources and make information gathering easier for schools. The new site has many attractive features and offers schools a range of new possibilities online.

It will also mean that School News ceases to be published during September and Bradfordschools.net – the schools e-portal – will become more of a learning website than a learning and information site as it is at the moment.

The Bradford Schools Online site will become Education Bradford’s primary tool for communicating with schools and will offer a single source for relevant information and guidance. The site has been designed and the content is being written with school staff and governors in mind and will, therefore, have a more focussed feel. This can be seen in features such as the ability to customise your own front page to suit you

Are you a Pirate?
All Headteachers

the_pirate.pngThe Federation Against Software Theft (FAST) can prosecute educational establishments that use improperly licensed software.

The pressure group, which lobbies on behalf of the proprietary software industry, can take headteachers, schools and local education authorities to court if they are found to have any unauthorised software.

The government has given them the tools to support this initiative with the Copyright and Trade Marks (Offences and Enforcement) Act 2002, which increased the penalties for certain copyright offences from two years to 10 years and strengthened search warrant provisions.
