Education Bradford has produced guidelines on writing an Equality, Diversity and Community Cohesion (EDCC) Policy for schools and a Self Evaluation Audit for schools. These documents were sent out to all Bradford schools in hard copy and are available to download, see links below: Community Cohesion, Equality and Diversity School Self Evaluation Audit Document Community Cohesion Policy Guidelines for Schools Community Cohesion Ofsted Guidance on Inspecting We have also produced documentation that suggests possible aims, objectives and recording and reporting strategies to help schools to plan, assess and evidence their success in promoting equality, diversity and community cohesion (EDCC). The document draws on the requirements of Learning Together to be Safe (DCSF 2009), the cross curricular QCA National Curriculum dimensions - diversity, community and identity, the Community Cohesion Education Standards(2004) and the related Ofsted inspection and evaluation criteria (2009). The DCSF has put together a toolkit to help schools contribute to the prevention of violent extremism. The toolkit provides more practical advice, for use in staff training, reviewing school practice and developing partnership working. It has been produced as a result of consultation between young people, teachers, the police, community representatives and local authorities across the country.
