Ambassador representatives in London 11/6/09The Anne Frank Awards seek to recognise people who have shown great personal strength, moral courage, and determination to stand up for what is right. They seek to acknowledge people who believe in Anne Frank’s inspirational words "It only takes a moment to start to improve the world" and put them into action. The Anne Frank Trust UK believe that those who speak out, go out of their way for others, and stick out their necks for the common good should be identified and held up as an example to us all. Each year the Anne Frank Awards culminate in a live event where the winners are celebrated and their stories shared as shining examples. The 2009 Awards ceremony took place on June 11th at House of Commons and The House of Lords, Westminster London. Representatives of six of the seven They enjoyed a trip on the river Back in Bradford on the 18th June, The Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor John D Godward held a Civic Reception in honour of the 59 Anne Frank Student Ambassadors and in recognition of their hard work and to celebrate them winning a local (Community Harmony) and a national award! The reception took place in the Banqueting suite at City Hall. Parents, teachers, headteachers and governors were also invited to the celebration, where they heard from the Lord Mayor and Diversity and Cohesion staff, just what a journey these young people have been on over the year, and how they really have worked hard in our communities and will continue to pass on their knowledge and ideas over the next twelve months.
