A New Community Cohesion Resource for Primary and Secondary Schools - Identity, Heritage and Belonging

"Such a relevant, interesting and exciting pack of resources! The DVD is excellent, and I shall be able to use the resources in teaching, as well as PSHCE. Overall a very well thought through pack that is of an excellent standard."

Jeanette House, Head of Enterprise at Oakbank School (12th January 2009)

Identity, Heritage and Belonging (resources, lesson plans and DVD) has been created by Education Bradford's Diversity and Cohesion Service, to help children to explore their roots, background, local community, identity and heritage; to expose and explore myths that have been created around race and racism and provide opportunities to identify what it might mean to be British in the 21st century. All the activities are designed to encourage dialogue, peer interaction and provide opportunities for creative work.

IHB may be used to support partnership work between primary and secondary schools and programmes of study across the National Curriculum, Citizenship and Religious Education and across key stages and phases.

Staff from Education Bradford’s Diversity and Cohesion Service are available to support schools in the use of these materials, at both strategic and classroom level.
