The Citizenship and Community Cohesion Project Symposium 30th June 2008 Print E-mail
Tuesday, 04 March 2008

The Citizenship and Community Cohesion Project involved primary and secondary schools working collaboratively on action research projects, developing and reviewing resources to support the delivery of Community Cohesion and Citizenship in Bradford Schools and beyond.

Eight schools presented the work that they were involved in at a symposium on the 30th June, held at the Bradford Academy. The emphasis was on sharing good practice and allowing the 'student voice' to be heard.  The messages from all the pupils were summed up by one statement from a pupil at Queensbury School:

' ALL pupils in ALL Bradford schools should be involved in this kind of work'

With Thanks

We would like to say a massive thanks to all staff who took part in the projects, who went way beyond the call of duty. Without their enthusiasm and commitment to citizenship and community cohesion, this work would not be the success that it has become.

Thank you again for all your hard work:

Hannah Smith, Laisterdyke Business and Enterprise College

Steve Walker, Bradford Academy

Chris Lear and Rahila Hussain, Queensbury School

Helen Malt, Woodside Primary School

Stephanie Ngenda, High Fernley Primary School

Rashming Ullah, Feversham Primary School

Sue Tuff, Nessfield Primary School

We also owe a huge thanks to the staff at Carlton Bolling CLC, John Patefiled and Ben Chalcraft in particular, who have been our technical support throughout the project, and helped us keep things together!
